SYNESTHEsia
I experience a lot of my senses like a version of double vision; sounds feel like touch, words feel like tactile shapes, and colors have flavors and smells. I keep coming back to work that expresses these experiences as best I can to those who don’t sense the world the way that I do. It certainly makes remembering some things easier, like when a phone number is a set of colors I can remember better than the sequence of numbers themselves. It also poses problems, when a voice whispering words feel like someone scratching the insides of my ear with a tiny fork. There is much to share, both good and bad!
